Weekend itinerary

Mirror Lake and Two Olympic Campuses

Walk Mirror Lake Friday, tour the Olympic Center Saturday morning, and spend the afternoon among the sliding track and Nordic trails at Mt Van Hoevenberg.

By Cal Mercer — a Second Star Guide itinerary

The Olympic Center occupies the village core; Mt Van Hoevenberg's sliding track and Nordic stadium sit on a separate wooded campus.

Best length

2 nights

Two nights cover Mirror Lake, the village Olympic district, and Mt Van Hoevenberg without turning Sunday into another ticketed stop.

Stay

High Peaks Resort

A Mirror Lake resort with shoreline access and a Main Street location, combining walkable dining with the services and shared spaces of a larger property.

Main activity

Olympic Center + Mt Van Hoevenberg

The morning covers the two Winter Games in the village; the afternoon moves into Lake Placid's sliding and Nordic landscape.

Saturday route

Olympic Center → Mt Van Hoevenberg

The ski jumps can replace Mt Van Hoevenberg for a shorter afternoon. Whiteface and a High Peaks trail each need a separate mountain day.
